Awarded the Jury Recognition prize in the Simon Bolivar National Journalism Award, the most prestigious journalism award  in Colombia. As to why it was chosen, “the jury highlighted the infographic work deployed to present facts, faces and details about the victims that otherwise would not have been known”.
Winner of the Inter American Press Association (IAPA) Excellence in Journalism award 2021 for News Coverage on the Internet, October 2021.
At La Silla Vacía, Colombia’s leading independent online publication, I designed and produced data visualizations, web graphics, and a social media strategy to make complex political and social issues accessible to diverse and younger audiences. 

Highlights include (2018-2021):
  • Instagram Growth: Boosted Instagram followers from 8K to 120K in two years through narrative innovation and interaction.
  • Award-Winning Projects: Designed infographics for investigative reports that received national and international journalism awards.
  • Data Visualization & Storytelling: Created engaging visual narratives for projects like “Punished for Having an Abortion” and “Killed During Protests,” emphasizing systemic inequities through data.
  • Design Impact: Supervised the integration of a new design system that increased user engagement by 10% and ensured mobile-first accessibility during a platform migration.
